[HarderFaster] Pharmacy: Phase 1 mixed by Christopher Lawrence
Pharmacy Music enters the first phase of their operations by unleashing their first compilation in the form of Phase 1; mixed by Christopher Lawrence and featuring tracks and remixes from Sean J Morris, Christopher Lawrence, Steve Birch and John ’00’ Fleming amongst others.
This album was recently reviewed on i:Vibes and was praised most highly in the review. On first listen, I have to agree with the praise that the album has received. Its dark and full-on and doesn’t leave much room to move other than to raise your hands and lose yourself in the groove. Saying that though, Phase 1 tends to move away from the classic trance sound and focuses on the more underground trance end of the genre, with hints of progressive, but mainly psy, and that, for me, is a good move.
Being blended by the Pharmacy overlord Christopher Lawrence, this is very much a blueprint of where trance is at the moment in the States and with a sound as rich and as dark, in places, as this then its one that is certainly worth looking into.
