[HarderFaster] – Beyond The Limit (2013 Remixes)
Pharmacy Music revisit Beyond The Limit, a track by John ’00’ Fleming and Christopher Lawrence. Here, the concept is simple: provide brand new remixes in a multi-volume format; a series of singles showcasing new and existing talent. The first set of remixes come from Nick Sentience and Reaky alongside remix competition winners Stephane Bradley, Franco Landriel and Takaki Matsuda & Apsara.
Reaky provides two versions of his remix while Nick Sentience provides a psytrance inspired assault. The Nick Sentience re-rub has a deep, driving, sound to it; it is nicely built and doesn’t waste any time to getting going. I’ve already mentioned him but Reaky is up next with his two versions. Version 1 is fresh-faced trance with more than a hint of techiness injected into it. It has a sturdy body and is pretty rugged. Version 2 is shorter and follows more or less the same theme; with the same rugged interior.
The remix winners now and because there are seven of them, the package will be split into several sets. Takaki Matsuda & Apsara go progressive on their interpretation with oodles of proglift and general swagger. Reminds me a bit of Save The Robot. Stephane Bradley goes down the full-on route; hitting the floor running and with some vigour. This is the longest remix on here and as a result, the mix is given time to spread out and get a good build going. Nice mid-section too.
Franco Landriel caters for the more conventional trance sound, as in the classic sound, with an uplifting vibe. Probably the most straight-forward mix on the package, this will appeal to the more conventional trance fan. If that makes sense. If it doesn’t, when you hear it, it will. Trust me. This one sounds a bit mechanised in tone. The beat is nice and thumpy with more than a nod to the likes of Sneijder about it. Good stuff.
