Electronic music star Christopher Lawrence chatted with Digital Journal about the new “Rush Hour- Best of 2015” compilation.

This past summer, Lawrence played a show at Pacha in New York. “The show at Pacha in NYC was fantastic. I hadn’t been in New York for a while so it was great to be back. What was extra special is the dance-floor was totally up for the underground trance and psy trance I was playing. I can’t wait to come back,” he said.

Regarding his new compilation, “Rush Hour- Best of 2015,” which will be out on October 26, he said, “The title of the new compilation says it all. It is the best tracks form all the episodes of 2015. Every episode of Rush Hour is like a best of compilation for that month so when it came to choosing the tracks for the official Best of 2015 compilation I had an incredible collection of tracks to choose from. The mix is over two and a half hour long and is comprised of twenty-nine tracks which allowed me to create a real journey. The mix begins with progressive house, moves into progressive psy trance then trance, tech trance, psy trance and full on. I am really happy with the way the mix turned out.”

On his plans for the future, he said, “Continuing to develop the Pharmacy and Pharmacy Plus labels are always two of my main goals. I am also looking to bring the sound of the labels on the road and featuring the amazing talent that are on those labels. The psy trance and progressive psy trance sound has really taken off here in the US and I am excited to bring that sound to festivals and clubs in the US. John 00 Fleming and I will be performing as Fleming and Lawrence at Dreamstate in San Francisco in January which shows how far the sound has come.”

Each day, Lawrence is still motivated by the music. “I would not be doing this for over twenty years if it wasn’t for the music. Every day I am on the hunt for new music that will rock the dance floor. I am a DJ first and foremost so planning for my next event is what rules my life,” he said.

He concluded, “I am very grateful to everyone that supports Rush Hour throughout the year. It is a fiercely loyal army of like minded people that appreciate the best in underground trance. This compilation is the culmination of year of great music. I am especially grateful to the artists that appear on Rush Hour: Best of 2015 for the incredible music they have produced. I would hope that people buy the compilation and support these artists. Downloading from torrents really does hurt the underground producers who spend their time locked up in little rooms creating this incredible music for us to enjoy.”

For his fans, he said, “Thanks for all your support and I hope to see everyone on a dance-floor soon.”
