[i:Vibes] Christopher Lawrence & Sean J. Morris – Rock It
Christopher Lawrence’s Pharmacy Music label is ready to unleash hell on the trance scene over the next few months and kick staring the release push is a new one from the man himself and fellow label talent Sean J. Morris. Let’s rock it…
This is only the 12th release in the labels history since it launched in 2008 but with every release it’s always been a quality one. Expect a lot more quality to come more frequent over the next few months as Pharmacy turns the heat up. It’s the label of international trance icon Christopher Lawrence who is back living in the United States after a brief stop off in Australia for a few years. Having been all over the world playing the biggest stages of them all he knows a thing or two about a good track and a talented artist. That’s why he signed his partner in crime for the new release Sean J. Morris to his label. He’s had two releases so far ‘Sun Chaser / Aspire’ and ‘Biopsy’ with a style for the underground trance sound. What sort of combination can the veteran and the young pretender come up with? In short a bloody good one with ‘Rock It’.
:: Original Mix
:: Reaky Remix
The studio where these two created ‘Rock It’ must have been a very good place to be as this gem of trance track was put together. Christopher Lawrence’s recent productions have always pushed out an infections groove to rock along to and in here it’s in full flow yet again. The build up is very addictive with scruffy acid lines and a crisp kick that makes things go boom in a good way. Influence by the Psy sound this track builds up the melody very progressively. Dropping sweet echo pads in the background and rolling drum beats when the first break drops you know you’re in for a treat when the kick drums start to build up and the rolling melody gets going. The hook in here is all on the bassline which leads into a second break before dropping the main melody right in your ears.
Up on the remix duty for Rock It is from Slovenia producer Reaky. He’s another artist on the up after chucking up some superb releases over the past year. His talent has not been unnoticed by Pharmacy who invited him to put his signature stamp on this one. He’s done that alright and churned out a banging tech progressive monster that takes the original’s elements but drives them with a different tone and feel. He mixes it up a little on the lead with a neat little break beat before hitting you with a delicate break. The key chords spilled in when the beat pumps back in are well worked and on the whole this is a very pumping mix.
Conclusion:
Pharmacy hits the sweet spot yet again with the Original here a very powerful trance outing, as the name suggests, ready to rock the dance floor. Reaky’s remix is a little more serious trance with a techno influence. This is one to put through you ears, especially the original mix!
